1 Samuel 21-22

From the moment David enters 1 Samuel, we are given hope of what the LORD's anointed should look like even as we see the wickedness of Saul expand. The contrast we see this week between David and Saul illustrates the wisdom of Proverbs 28:28-29:2, which says:

When the wicked rise, people hide themselves,

   but when they perish, the righteous increase.

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,

   will suddenly be broken beyond healing.

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,

   but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
