The Light of the World

At the Feast of Tabernacles Jerusalem is lit with torches and fires to celebrate the provision of the Lord. Over eight days the Jews would celebrate the ways in which the Lord has provided and look forward to when the Lord provided the Messiah. As the city was alight and the people wondered when the Messiah would come, Jesus stood up in the temple and declared “I am the light of the world.” This week we are looking at what Jesus meant when he said these words and what it means for us today.
