Itching Ears

The phrase "itching ears" in 2 Timothy is about the idea of pursuing only what one already wants to hear, instead of seeking out what is true. The apostle Paul is warning Timothy that in his role as a preacher of the Word he will be tasked to make sure to declare God's Word boldly regardless of what his audience wants. For us today, it is worth considering whether we are seeking to be transformed by the Gospel or have our ears itched.
